The NCAA Men’s College Hockey Championship Division 1 trophy spent a day at Adam Miller Toy and Bicycle on Saturday for all customers to see and touch in person.
“My son Shawn is on the coaching staff, and they won the National Championship in April and it’s his weekend to have it with him, just like the Stanley Cup, all players and coaches get to have it a short period of time,” says John Roche, owner of Adam Miller Toy and Bicycle.

Shawn Roach, 36, of Hamden, Connecticut is a Video Coach and holds the title of Head of Hockey Operations at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. The winning overtime goal in the Championship game was one that Shawn worked on with the players and coaches. The Pembroke High School graduate is also a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio and has a degree in Sports Management. He started out coaching football and moved on to hockey and spent a few years with the NY Rangers as an Assistant Video Coordinator. He has been with Quinnipiac for 6 years.

John says he has never seen the trophy in person before, only in pictures. He says Shawn loves to play any sport, football, hockey, baseball, or golf.
“Next hopefully is the Stanley Cup, that one you get your name put on.”
Today, the NCAA Championship trophy with travel to the 16th Annual Chef Russell Bugbee Golf Tournament at the Batavia Country Club and will be on display there. On Monday, it will head back to Connecticut to travel with the next team member/staff.
