Haley Tygart has been taking dance lessons since she was 2 years old.

“I actually started dancing here in this studio when I was 3 years old with instructor Tina Harding,” says Tygart.

“I danced all the way until I was a senior here, then I started teaching here.”

Tygart attended SUNY Geneseo and majored in teaching/special education and minored in dance. She came back to teach dance after college, then took a year off to have a baby. She then taught in Warsaw.

Now Tygart is living her dream of owning her own studio.

“It’s a dream that I had as a little girl, and when Tina (Harding) called me and asked me if I wanted a dance studio, I originally thought she was joking, but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down, I took the leap and here I am.”

Dynamic Dance Studio at 29 Main Street in Attica (corner of Water Street) opened in July with a Summer Camp and Princess Camp. Between the two Open House days this month and word of mouth, Tygart says she was hoping for 65 students to enroll.

“We’re probably going to have over that after the open houses.”

“I taught here for five years, and a lot of the dancers I had here over the years, they are all coming back, which I am super happy to see, that I, somewhere along the way must have made an impact or a made a connection with them and they’re willing to come back and share that with me again.”

The space at 29 Main Street is being leased by Tygart.

“We painted and new windows were installed. Now we’re adding our own style. This environment here in this space, it really helps to build kid’s confidence and helps build strength. Is a safe space for kids, they get to come in and express themselves however they want.”

Tygart says she is very appreciative of the help of family and friends.

“I am really super happy that my family and friends supported me on this journey and a lot of my dancers are coming back when I was teaching here, so I am super excited to see all of them.”
