The Harvester- A rockin place for band space-

VIDEO-a snipit from one of the group’s original songs, “Rose City Burial

On Thursday night, Video News Service caught up with a group of three long time musicians who were checking out a new bandmate to do the heavy vocals on their song “Rose City Burial”, a thrash/death metal/rock song.

Chris Boyd, lead guitar, Cory Hodge, bass guitar, and Sam Malone on drums, have been playing together for about three weeks on the second floor of the Harvester.

“The second floor is where it’s at,” says Malone, who rented the 30×20 space in late April.

Boyd, who is currently playing with RadioRelapse Radio Relapse (radiorelapseband.com) and running Starlite Recording Studios in Stafford, NY, says he has been writing some original songs and was looking for an outlet for his original material.

“I miss playing heavy stuff and original stuff,” says Boyd.

Boyd went to sound recording school in Arizona. When he was 21, he learned how to mix and master professionally for bands and radio podcasts. He is currently recording the group’s songs and putting them together.

Boyd, Hodge and Malone have known each other for 25 years and have been playing together on and off.

Greg Totten showed up at 56 Harvester Avenue on Thursday night to try out on heavy vocals. He seemed to fit right in with the band, who does not have a name yet.

Drummer Sam Malone says they plan to start playing some shows the first of the year.
