On September 8, 2023, Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested Harold W. Ellis, 46, of Perry, NY charging him with driving while intoxicated and moving from lane unsafely.
On September 8, 2023, Troopers responded to a personal injury accident at 1982 Silver Lake Road in the Town of Perry. Ellis was the operator of the vehicle and stated that he and his passenger were injured.
While interviewing Ellis, Troopers say they noticed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Ellis’ breath. Ellis was also observed having watery and bloodshot eyes.
Troopers were unable to perform field sobriety tests on Ellis but were able to take a Preliminary Breath Test-PBT reading at the scene. Ellis allegedly tested positive for alcohol and was arrested and transported to WCCH for medical examination. Ellis agreed to a chemical test via blood test and was later processed at SP Warsaw without incident.
Ellis was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Perry Court for September 20, 2023.
