On October 11, 2023, at approximately 18:43 hours, deputies from the Wyoming County
Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Town of Sheldon for the report of an altercation
involving a male and female.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with both parties and observed the female victim to have physical injuries, which were sustained as a result of the altercation.
Gregory N. Grover, 37, of Town of Sheldon, was subsequently arrested and charged with Assault 3rd degree. Grover was transported to the Town of Sheldon Court and arraigned on the charge.
Grover was released on his own recognizance and a stay-away order of protection was issued. He
is to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
On October 14, 2023, at approximately 2:11 A.M., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a
vehicle on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon for a speeding violation.
After a DMV check, it was found that the driver of the vehicle, Aldean Saidi, 32, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania had a suspended New York State driver’s license.
Saidi was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and other
traffic infractions.
He was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in Sheldon Town Court
on October 30, 2023.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Babil Iqbar, 24, of Wycock, NJ, following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville on October 17, 2023.
Deputies on patrol observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit of 55 MPH. During the traffic stop, it was found that Mr. Iqbar was currently suspended in New York for failing to answer a summons.
Iqbar was issued citations for speed over 55 and aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree. Iqbar is to answer the charges on November 8th, 2023 in the Town of Orangeville Court.
On October 14th, 2023, at around 8:40am, a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office
was conducting stationary radar on Route 246, in the Town of Covington, when a blue four
door sedan was observed traveling northbound at 70mph while passing another northbound
vehicle near Lagrange Road.
A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard D. Falls, 49, of Hume, NY. A license check showed Falls’ license was revoked with a total of 9 suspensions, 5 scoffs on 3 dates, was expired and showed an interlock device restriction.
Falls was ultimately charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the
2nd Degree – Alcohol, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in
the 2nd Degree – 3/More Suspensions on 3/more dates, operating out of interlock
restriction, Speed Over 55mph and Unlicensed Operator.
Falls was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town
of Covington Court at a later date.
On October 13, 2023, at about 3:59a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office
was patrolling eastbound on West Main Street, in the Village of Arcade, when a black four door
sedan was observed also traveling eastbound.
A random registration check showed the vehicle’s registration was suspended for an insurance lapse and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted near Bixby Hill Road. The driver was identified as Trey M. Holtz, 23, of Arcade, NY. Holtz was ultimately charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration
Holtz was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the
Arcade Village Court at a later date.
