Top Cops for 2023-Joseph Weglarski/Batavia Police Department, Jordan Wolcott/LeRoy Police Department, and Zachary Hoy/Genesee County Sheriff’s Department
The TOP COP Award is presented each year to an officer from each local Genesee County law enforcement agency who has the highest number of DWI arrests over the past year.
YOUTH AWARDS
The award recipients are youth throughout Genesee County in grades 6-12th grade who submitted a STOP-DWI Poster under the theme of “Designate a driver, don’t let alcohol take the wheel.” Their designs could be using any medium, creating a colorful design which can deliver the most visual impact for their message. All award winners received commendations from the Genessee County Legislature, Assemblyman Steve Hawley, Senator Borrello, a Target gift card, and a framed poster of their work.
The Grand Prize winner’s artwork will be displayed on a billboard on West Main Street in Batavia from November 13th-December 10th.
