WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Warsaw woman arrested after October accident in Covington

On October 3, 2023, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a call for a two-vehicle accident on Wyoming Road in the Town of Covington. It was reported that a semi had struck a small car.
Upon arrival, deputies located a female who was sitting on the side of the road. The female was identified as Regina M. Stoddard, 29, of Warsaw, NY.

Initially, Stoddard advised that she was a passenger in the small car that was struck and
that an unknown male driver had fled the scene. Evidence at the scene, along with witness
statements, contradicted this allegation and Stoddard was found to be operating the vehicle.

The investigation into the accident showed that Stoddard was operating a vehicle southbound on
Wyoming Road and allegedly drove into the oncoming lane of traffic, striking a farm vehicle, and then
went down an embankment.

During the investigation at the scene, it was discovered that the vehicle Stoddard was operating
had allegedly been stolen out of the City of Rochester on September 29th. Stoddard was also allegedly showing numerous signs of drug impairment and was subsequently placed under arrest for DWAI-Drugs.

While being treated at the scene, Stoddard refused to supply a blood sample, and was transported
to a City of Rochester Hospital by ambulance for substantial injuries. While being treated in the
Emergency Room, Stoddard absconded from the hospital and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On November 15, 2023, Stoddard was arrested on the warrant and charged with Criminal Possession
of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class D felony, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated
Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Stoddard was arraigned in the Town of Covington Court where she was released on recognizance, following a $10,000 bail recommendation by the District Attorney’s Office. Stoddard was released and is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
