Thomas A. Culver, 44, of Franklin St., Batavia, NY, was arrested after a traffic stop on Park Road on December 13, 2023. Culver had pending charges from a two-vehicle accident that occurred on December 8, 2023 at 4028 W. Main St. Rd., at 4:37p.m.
According to Sgt. Hale with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department, a van was in the eastbound lane, stopped to turn into the car wash, when the car rear ended the van. The driver of the car was transported to ECMC via ambulance and the passenger in the car to UMMC via ambulance. The driver of the van was not injured. Culver was issued tickets for following too closely and speed not reasonable and prudent after the accident.
While deputies were investigating the accident, crack cocaine and a large amount of cash was allegedly found in a black bag on Culver’s person. He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
During the traffic stop on December 13, 2023, Culver was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine and fentanyl and charged with criminal possession of controlled substance 7th degree. He was also charged with failure to stop from alley/driveway/private road as required.
Culver was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and issued an appearance ticket during the traffic stop. He is scheduled to appear in Batavia Town Court on January 9, 2024 at 3:00p.m.
