The City of Batavia Fire Department introduced their new Engine 12 to the public on Wednesday afternoon, with a “Push In” Ceremony at City Fire Headquarters on Evans Street.

Chaplain Erhart blessed the new Engine 12 and all firefighters who use the truck. New Engine 12 went into service this past Friday, December 29, 2023. Colden Enterprises trained each Platoon on the operation of the truck that arrived at City Fire last month.

Old Engine 12, a 2002 Pierce Contender is out of service and will probably go out to auction.

Turnaround time from the initial order to receiving the truck from Spartan was less than a year, according to Captain Jamie Call.

The cost of the truck was just under $800,000 and is being paid for through tax dollars and a $100,000 Grant through USDA. USDA also provided financing.
