GENESEE COUNTY/LeRoy Police nab warrant suspects after brief pursuit/crash

A vehicle failing to stop for vehicle and traffic violations led LeRoy Police on a brief pursuit into the Village of LeRoy on Thursday morning.

According to Sgt. Jordan Wolcott of the LeRoy Police Department, a vehicle was headed north into the Village of LeRoy on Rt. 19 about 7:00a.m. on Thursday morning and failed to stop for police. When the vehicle reached Rt. 19 and Munson Street, it attempted to make a U-turn and struck a utility pole on Munson Street.

Both the driver and the passenger had warrants and were held at gunpoint until additional units arrived on scene from LeRoy Police and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. The male passenger suffered minor injuries and was transported to UMMC. The male driver was uninjured and taken into custody.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located in the vehicle according to Sgt. Wolcott.

Names are not being released at this time as this is an ongoing investigation. Charges are pending.
