WYOMING COUNTY/Passerby calls 911 after spotting fire

A passerby discovered a fire at 5950 Horton Road in the Town of Wethersfield on Saturday evening about 7:56p.m.

According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, six fire companies responded to extinguish a house fire. No one was at home at the time of the fire. The occupants will be staying with family and friends. The home is owned by Kevin Hartman. Damages are estimated at $25,000.

The cause is under investigation.

Fire crews from Bliss, Arcade, Castile, North Java, Pike, and Gainesville were on scene for about 2.5 hours.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Management.
