ORLEANS COUNTY/Albion man charged after incident at McDonalds on Friday morning

On February 2nd, 2024, at about 8:32 a.m. the Albion Police Department responded to McDonald’s at 112 East Avenue in the Village of Albion for the reported robbery.

It was determined that a customer was upset and believed that he was shorted change after his purchase. An argument between the customer and the manager ensued. The customer was then advised several times to the leave the building by the manager.

During the argument, the customer pushed the manager of McDonald’s and entered the area behind the counter. The customer then took money from the cash register and left.

The Albion Police subsequently arrested Donovan J. Conner, 36, who resides at Beechwood Apartments in the Village of Albion. Conner is charged with the following:

Robbery 3rd – Class D Felony

2 Counts of Harassment 2nd – Violation

Aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd – Unclassified Misdemeanor

Unlicensed Operator – Violation

Trespass – Violation

Conner was transported to the Albion Police Department for processing and then taken to the Orleans County Jail, awaiting to appear in court for an order of protection.

Conner was issued appearance tickets for all the listed charges due to NYS Bail Reform Laws.

The Albion Police Department was assisted by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, and the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force.
