BATAVIA/Rapone appointed as Interim Principal at Notre Dame Jr. Sr. High School

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that effective immediately, Michael Rapone is appointed interim Principal of Notre Dame Batavia. 

Mr. Rapone needs no introduction to many, as his long history of leadership at Notre Dame spans several decades.  He is on his 25th year of service to the students of Notre Dame as Athletic Director, and recently retired from the Assistant Principal role at the school after a 24 year tenure. Mike is a proud Notre Dame alumnus, holds a BS from SUNY Brockport and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MS in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Canisius College. Board President James Sutherland says “Mike has been a legendary Coach at Notre Dame since 1978.  He is an outstanding educator, building leader and dedicated champion of all of the values Notre Dame holds dear. Our students and staff are in very good hands under his experienced guidance.”

Mr. Rapone will serve in the capacity of Principal for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year at which time the Board of Trustees will begin a search for a permanent hire. Qualified school administrators with interest in the position can email their resumes to trustees@ndhsbatavia.com.
