Press release/provided photos

Located between Buffalo and Rochester, Wyoming County is the leading maple producer in New York State. During the last two weekends of March, everyone is invited to Maple Weekends to enjoy this amazing family-oriented county-wide event.

  • Wyoming County Maple Weekend #1 – Saturday March 16th & Sunday 17th from 10AM-4PM (unless otherwise noted).
  • Wyoming County Maple Weekend #2 – Saturday March 23th & Sunday 24th from 10AM-4PM (unless otherwise noted).

Over the course of two weekends, visitors can explore maple farms throughout Wyoming County, see how syrup is made, taste delicious samples, buy plenty of maple products like syrup, sugar, candy, BBQ sauce, mustard, maple slushies, mapleccinos, cotton candy, maple cream, hot sauce, maple tea and much more.

“Wyoming County is the state leader in maple production, and the originator of Maple Weekends in NYS,” said Eric Szucs, Director of Tourism for Wyoming County, “We have 17 Wyoming County Maple Syrup Producers Association members open for Maple Weekends, which is the most per county in the entire state. If you want a truly incredible experience, we’re the epicenter of all things maple in Western New York. It’s an excellent opportunity to see how syrup goes from the tap to your table. It’s educational, fun, and you can purchase an array of maple goodies made on the farm by our incredibly talented producers. These are the sweetest two weekends of the year!”

“Maple Weekends is a superb opportunity for our agriculture community to showcase our unique maple producers,” said Ken Kehl, maple producer and Wyoming County Maple Producers Association member. “Producers have been doing this for generations, and there is an immense sense of pride in what they do. Every stop you make, you’ll learn something new, see something different, and hear stories about the maple production process, as well as the history of the farm, the family and how they pour their heart and soul into making delicious maple products.”

Even sweeter, this year is NYS Parks’ centennial, the 100th birthday of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. To mark this 100th anniversary, Letchworth’s mapling team is using exactly 100 taps on the park’s maple trees. Aluminum buckets, plastic buckets, tubing lines, bags, even a DIY milk jug are all in play.  At Maple Weekends, you can see them all in action and help collect sap!
