WYOMING COUNTY/Modified office hours during the 2024 Solar Eclipse

(WARSAW, NY) The Wyoming County Board of Supervisors announces modified office hours
for the following Wyoming County Departments during the April 8th solar eclipse:

  • Offices closing at noon
    o Budget Office
    o County Attorney
    o District Attorney
    o County Historian
    o County Insurance office
    o Fire and Building Code Enforcement
    ▪ Code Enforcement Officers will be on call for emergencies from noon –
    4PM
    o Human Resource Department
    o Office for the Aging & Youth
    o Planning and Development
    o Public Defender’s office
    o Real Property Tax Services
    o Zoning
  • Offices observing regular business hours.
    o Animal Control
    o Board of Elections
    o Buildings and Grounds
    o Clerk to the Board, minimum staffing – regular hours
    o County Administrator
    o County Clerk and DMV
    ▪ There may be a brief period of time when doors are closed to allow
    employees an opportunity to observe the eclipse. Staff will be available to
    conduct business during this brief period.

o Fire & Emergency Management
o Health Department, with minimum staffing 8AM to 4PM
o Highway
o Information Technology, with minimum staffing
o Mental Health
o Probation, minimum staffing, regular hours
o Records Center
o Sheriff
o Department of Social Services
o Treasurer’s Office
o Veteran Services
o Wyoming County Community Health System
