Rojas is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She completed her education and earned her Master’s degree at SUNY Brockport as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
“Within the county, there’s not many wellness services being offered, says Rojas. Ever since I became a registered nurse, I have always had this fantasy to have my own practice.”
A Byron native, Rojas says she prefers to serve her community. She says Batavia was her best closest option to open an office. Batavia Wellness NP is located at the corner of Washington Avenue and Bank Street, across from the Jerome Center.
“This feels homey. The space was already set up to be a medical office, its next to a chiropractor, a dentist and a urologist. I feel like it’s a perfect set up.”
Rojas has been a registered nurse since 2012 and then became a Nurse Practitioner in in 2020. She started in an Urgent Care doing rotations in emergency and then went into Primary Care.
“The majority of my patients have been weight loss patients. I definitely see a lot of people that call for that. We don’t work with insurances. It’s completely cash/credit/HSA card based, which is kind of new for a little small community. Unfortunately, a lot of insurances don’t reimburse for the type of services that I offer.”
Rojas says she begins with an hour consultation. Each patient can expect a comprehensive laboratory analysis regardless of what they are there for.
“If you come in for a consultation, you are not obliged to pay for a treatment plan after the consultation. I find a lot of people enjoy meeting me. I listen to them a lot. I have a lot of compassion towards them, some people just need someone to listen to them or really hear what their struggling with and going through. We focus exactly on the specific reason they’re here, which helps them, helps me and helps us to really hone down on their goals and come up with a specific treatment plan.”
Rojas says her mission is to empower her patient’s wellness journey, while rejuvenating and revitalizing your health. She says she created her practice because she realized that obesity, undesired weight gain, and low testosterone are severely undertreated in Primary Care.
Rojas says she likes having her own autonomy.
“Having your own practice, you can see a patient in one hour if you want to, you can’t really do that in Primary Care. I can do things my way and I don’t feel rushed. I can make my own decisions.”
Making an appointment on the website is best, the office does not take walk in patients.
“If you’re not sure, a lot of people have symptoms and they are not sure what is causing them, or maybe they were told different things during their years of visiting different specialists or doctors. I’ve had patients who have seen me and were unable to qualify for a certain program because of their lab work or something else. A lot of people are still willing to invest in this. People appreciate having someone help them and guide them through their wellness journey whatever it may be.”
