WYOMING COUNTY/Woman suffers injuries after being accidentally run over by a disabled vehicle that was being towed

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an injury accident which occurred this
morning on East Arcade Road in the Town of Arcade.

Multiple agencies responded to the report of a female who had been run over by a vehicle. Upon
arrival, it was determined a disabled vehicle being towed with a tow rope had accidentally run
over a 58-year-old female while on private property.

The injured female, who will remain unnamed at this time, had a severe lower leg injury and torso injuries. An Arcade Police Officer, who had responded to the scene to assist, applied a tourniquet to the injured leg to control bleeding, and other medical care was provided by Arcade Fire Department.

The female was transported by Arcade Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment.

Initial findings indicate the female was assisting in moving the disabled vehicle, while a family
member was attempting to pull the disabled vehicle with another vehicle. No charges are
expected at this time.
Also assisting at the scene was Wyoming County Emergency Services.
