PERRY POLICE REPORT/Perry woman charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident following a child endangerment Investigation by the Perry Police Department.

On April 30, 2024, the Perry Police Department received a call for a four-year-old child found unattended. A homeowner located the child with no clothes on, attempting to enter a pool after unlocking a gate at a residence on Tempest Street.

The homeowner contacted police who were able to make contact with the parent of the child, Courtney Nearhood, no age or address provided.

Nearhood was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child less than 17 and issued an appearance ticket with a return court date of 06/11/2024 at 1:00PM.
