On January 28, 2025, at approximately 1:44am, a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Rt. 77 and Rt. 354 in the Town of Bennington, for the report of a vehicle parked in the roadway.
A deputy located the vehicle in question parked in the northbound lane of Rt. 77, facing south. Contact was made with the vehicle operator, Sara Landen, 45, of Niagara Falls, NY, who was allegedly exhibiting signs of intoxication.
Landen refused to cooperate with roadside field sobriety testing and was subsequently placed under arrest for DWI. Landen was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, where she did submit to a breath test. The breath test showed Landen to have a BAC greater than .08%. A DMV check also revealed that Landen possessed a non-driver ID only, which was suspended in New York State.
Landen was charged with DWI, driving with .08 of 1% or more of alcohol, Aggravated Unlicensed
Operation in the Third Degree and Unlicensed Operator. Landen was issued an appearance
ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Bennington Court at a later date.
