Perry, NY – Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of two Perry residents following a report of a young child in the roadway by himself.
On March 20th, 2025, the Perry Police Department responded to Lake Street for a young child crossing the street by himself. Upon arrival, Officer Fronckowiak observed two bystanders taking care of the child. After an investigation, it was found that Devin B. Garra and Nathalie M. Guthrien, no ages provided, were allegedly home sleeping when the child unlocked the front door and left the residence on foot unattended. Police say Garra and Guthrie also allegedly slept through the door alarm.
Both Garra and Guthrie were each charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child following the investigation. They were processed and released with a return court date of April 15, 2025 at the Perry Village Court.
