Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s cardboard cutout remained silent during a GLOW Region Community Town Hall at the ARC GLOW Community Center on Wednesday night. The congressional representative did not respond to an invitation to attend the event or send a representative.
The 280 attendees listened to representatives from the education area, veterans, agriculture/small business owners, a healthcare/Medicaid representative, while also discussing social security.
Millie Tomidy- Pepper, who was one of the co organizers of the Community Impact Townhall, says the group spent the past 4-5 weeks organizing and planning. She says several locations did not want to be a part of the event hosted by the Concerned Citizens of NY- 24 for fear of losing federal funding.
About 280 people came out to listen, ask questions and discuss the most recent federal actions and policies that have gutted the areas mentioned above.
The group says other sessions are planned in the future.
