The Village of Attica Police Department reports the arrest of a Springville, NY resident on Felony charges following a report by store employees of a male subject stealing property from the Attica Dollar General by on-duty members of the Village of Attica Police.

In the evening hours of Sunday, May 18th, 2025, Officer Casey Jackson received a report of a suspicious male that had entered a restricted area of the Attica Dollar General, located at 11281 Rt. 98.

While in the restricted area, the male subject allegedly removed items, concealed them in his clothing and fled the store out of a fire exit. Officer Jackson requested additional units, and the Attica Police Department was immediately assisted by units of the New York State Police (Batavia Barracks), Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.

The store personnel were able to give a very detailed clothing description, and the male subject was taken into custody a brief time later after a foot chase. The male subject initially gave a false name and through the investigation the following was determined.

The male subject was identified as Dylan K. Tworkowski, age 25, with a last known address of Springville, NY.

It was determined that Tworkowski was homeless and appeared to be living out of his vehicle. His vehicle was located at a residence on Market Street in the Village of Attica. It was further determined that the residence was vacant and undergoing remodeling. Tworkowski had illegally entered the home and had been staying there. Law Enforcement had determined that Tworkowski had been staying in the vacant home between 12-24 hours.

Attica Police are also investigating an attempted burglary of the Harder O’Donnel American Legion Post located at 83 Market Street which occurred in the same time frame of the residential burglary and theft from Dollar General. Police are currently reviewing forensic evidence and possible additional charges are pending.

Tworkowski was initially charged with Burglary 2nd degree, a class C felony. Tworkowski was arraigned in Village of Attica Justice Court before Justice J. Perry, who committed Tworkowski to Wyoming County Jail on $20,000.00 cash bail, $40,000.00 partially secured bond and $80,000.00 secured bond.

Tworkowski’s next court appearance is set for Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:00 am

This is an on-going open investigation and additional charges are pending.
