On May 26, 2025, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at Six Flags Darien Lake.
Around 7:44pm, after the park had closed, several groups had gathered outside the main park gates. Two separate altercations broke out, each involving two people. Due to the large crowds surrounding the
altercations, additional assistance was requested by deputies who were already working at the park.
After initial efforts were unsuccessful, PepperBall guns were deployed to quell the disturbance and
disperse the crowds. Once the incident was brought under control, the involved parties were found to be
juveniles. No injuries were reported and thus, there are no charges being filed.
Assisting agencies included Batavia Police Department, Corfu Police Department, New York State Police
and the Erie County Sheriffs Office.
