Video story about the ride-July 26, 2025
The community came together on Saturday morning to remember and give back to some of the annual events that Sgt. Sanfratello spent his life supporting. The event was open to all, motorcycles, cars, and trucks and started and ended at the Alexander Fire Department Recreation Hall on Rt. 98 in Alexander.
According to organizers Amanda Auriemma and Nate Coffey, the Memorial Ride supporting all first responders attracted 83 motorcycles and 14 cars along with representatives from the Le Roy Police Dept., Corfu Police Dept., NYS Police, and Genesee County Sheriff’s Dept., along with local fire departments and community members.
Participants also brought in a small, unwrapped toy or a donation amount of their choice to support Shop with a Cop.
Funds also went to a scholarship in Sgt. Sanfratello’s name to be awarded to a high school senior planning to enter the field of law enforcement. Hot Wheels cars were also collected, a favorite collection of Sgt. Sanfratello. He always had one to provide to any child that had to spend time at the Sheriff’s Office. There were over 130 baskets in the basket raffle.
