A Wellness Wave, promoting movement and health, came over Jackson Square on Saturday, complete with turf, provided by Batavia Turf farms.
Genesee ACE Employment received a Fidelis rural health grant to offer the Wellness event in the Square.
“We’re using the money to create a healthier community and healthier options in the community,” says Rachel Fisher, Administrative Assistant at Genesee ACE Employment.
The day started with Yoga with Patty Hawley and Zumba with Heather Kent. Kristine “Dr. T.” Tenebruso, MD spoke about getting the most out your doctor visits. Yasmeen Hunter got people moving with beginner Hip Hop steps, while Holly Sharp showed the benefits of healthy movement. Dieticians also were on hand along with Dr. Roula Alkhouri
Fisher says if you missed today, there are other options being planned in Batavia. Genesee Ace Employment is looking to schedule another Wellness Wave indoors during the winter and then another in the spring.
