Press release
Batavia, NY — Genesee County residents, business owners, community organizations, and civic leaders are invited to participate in the Brand Genesee Community Workshop on Tuesday, September 23rd, beginning at 4:30 PM and open until 6:30 PM at The Generation Center, 15 Center Street, Batavia.
The free, in-person event is designed to help shape Genesee County’s brand direction and guide the five-year strategic plan for the county’s visitor economy. Participants are asked to register in advance at
BrandGenesee.com or by calling 585-344-4152. Walk-ins will also be welcomed anytime during the two-hour window.
“The Chamber is excited to invite community members to lend their ideas to the new brand development, as well as to share local perspectives on the direction of our tourism strategy,” said Kelly Rapone, Tourism
Director for Genesee County at the Chamber of Commerce.
The Brand Genesee workshop is a revolving, open session created to encourage broad and diverse public
participation. Attendees may join and leave as their schedule permits, but participants are encouraged to
spend as much time as possible contributing at the activity stations.
Those who have not yet reviewed the recently completed Destination Assessment Key Findings, presented on August 19, are encouraged to watch the video presentation, which is posted on the project website at
BrandGenesee.com. This background will provide helpful context as the project moves into its next phase.
