STAFFORD — Steven Boldt has announced his candidacy for re-election as Town of Stafford Highway Superintendent. Boldt has held the position for 20 years and previously served as a Town Councilman.

During his tenure, Boldt has overseen road paving, ditch cleaning, culvert replacement, and intersection safety improvements. He notes that the department has remained under budget every year of his service. Boldt also secured a $100,000 Shared Service Grant to purchase an excavator jointly with the Town of LeRoy, a partnership that continues to save Stafford taxpayers money.

In addition, Boldt has expanded Shared Service Agreements with neighboring municipalities to reduce costs and improve efficiency. He points to Stafford’s preparedness during last winter’s salt shortage as a result of his proactive planning and training initiatives, which also minimized environmental impacts.

He has worked with the Town Board on upgrades at Emery Park, safety improvements at Town Hall, and the installation of a public water sale meter. He also collaborated with engineers on waterline projects to reduce future costs for residents.

Boldt holds a Class A Commercial Driver’s License, is a graduate of Alfred State Technical College, and continues professional education at the Cornell Local Roads Highway School. He is experienced in heavy equipment operation and repair, budget planning, soil conservation regulations, and federal compliance standards.

“I am proud of the progress we’ve made and will continue working to keep our roads safe and our tax dollars spent wisely,” Boldt said.
