Fritz’s Polka Band will play from 11am to 2pm
Press release
BATAVIA – On Thursday, October 16th, Batavia Downs welcomes back Fritz’s Polka Band for the 2025 Oktoberfest. This free event will run from 11am to 2pm in the Park Place Events Center.
Fritz’s Polka Band was formed in 1978, in Verona, NY, and is not your ordinary Oompa pa band. The band is known for breaking the stereotype when it comes to polka and German music as they were the first polka band to perform at the Woodstock Festival in 2010.
Band leader Fritz Scherz was inducted into the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame as he received the prestigious Trustee’s Honor Roll award in 2023.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Fritz’s Polka Band here for Oktoberfest 2025, said Ryan Hasenauer, Vice President of Business Development at Batavia Downs. “Being able to provide a show during the day, to our loyal guests is something that we’ve done for years and it is always well received. You don’t even need ticket, just show up and enjoy the music.”
Doors open at 10:45am and the Homestretch Grill doors will be open and several polish food specials will be available including the famous Polish Platter. There will be a cash bar in the room.
