Orleans County Sheriff’s investigators are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on West County House Road and Rt. 98 on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Sheriff Christopher Bourke, a car was northbound on Rt. 98, and the motorcycle was west bound on East County House Road, when the motorcycle failed to stop at stop sign, and entered the path of the northbound vehicle and a collision occurred. Both vehicles went off the highway into the lawn of a residence on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected. during the collision and emergency life saving measures were taken by Mercy Ambulance, Mercy Flight and the Albion Fire Department at the scene, however the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orleans County Coroner’s Office.
