Press release
The Batavia Business Improvement District (BID) and the City of Batavia are thrilled to announce the
return of its annual Christmas in the City celebration, happening Saturday, December 6th from 2:00
PM to 6:00 PM, with the festive Christmas Parade starting promptly at 6:00pm. We invite the entire
community to bundle up, head downtown, and celebrate the magic of the season with us!
Visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities throughout our downtown district, hosted in partnership with
many of our amazing local businesses. This year’s event is packed with holiday favorites, including:
- Holiday scavenger hunt
- Ornament making
- Goat petting
- Horse & carriage rides
- Hot Cocoa Bar
- Hair tinsel stations
- Our favorite Brass Band
- …and so much more spread throughout our festive downtown!
We are especially proud to announce the fantastic addition to this year’s celebration: the Batavia Concert
Band, who will be performing inside the mall to add beautiful holiday music to this year’s celebration.
Of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from the guy in the big red suit
himself, Santa Claus! He will make his appearances in the afternoon and during the parade.
In addition, the Christmas Craft Show will take place inside the mall from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering
unique gifts, handmade items, and an opportunity to support local makers.
This beloved community event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our incredible
sponsors, who help us bring holiday magic to Batavia each year.
A full schedule of events will be available on our website and Facebook page.
Visit BataviaBID.com or follow the Batavia Downtown Business Improvement District on Facebook for
updates, maps, and activity listings. Event posters will also be displayed throughout downtown for easy
reference.
Join us for Christmas in the City and experience the joy, music, lights, and community spirit that make
downtown Batavia stand out from the rest.
