Batavia, NY — Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation (WROTBC) and Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel are proud to announce the success of their 2025 Movember campaign. With an initial fundraising goal of $500, employees, board members, and community supporters rallied together and raised $1,250, surpassing the goal by $750.
Throughout November, staff members participated by growing mustaches and beards, raising funds, and helping spark vital conversations about men’s health, an issue that affects millions of men and families every year.
Byron W. Brown, President & CEO said, “I was honored to stand with the men and women of Batavia Downs who care deeply about the importance of Men’s Health. I want to thank all those who donated and wish everyone a blessed Holiday Season.”
Those wishing to support this important cause can visit https://us.movember.com/team/2458020 prior to December 10, 2025.
Why Men’s Health Awareness Matters
Men face a number of significant and often under-recognized health challenges. National and global Movember data highlight the urgency of the issue:
· 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
· Testicular cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in young men aged 15 to 34.
· On average, men live five years shorter than women, often due to preventable or treatable conditions.
· Many men avoid checkups or delay seeking help for both physical and mental health concerns.
Movember works to change these statistics by breaking stigma, encouraging early detection, and funding lifesaving research and men’s health initiatives across the world.
Where the Donations Go
The $1,250 raised will directly support Movember’s global programs, including:
