Provided announcement

To the People of Wyoming County:
My name is Colin P. B. Reagan, and I am proud to announce I am seeking candidacy for Wyoming
County Sheriff in the 2026 Republican Primary Election and General Election. It would be my great
honor to receive your vote on June 23, 2026, the Republican Primary date, and on November 3, 2026,
Election Day.
For the past three years, I have served as your Undersheriff, working alongside Sheriff David P. Linder,
who has recently announced his retirement effective at the end of this year. I am grateful to have humbly
accepted the endorsement from Sheriff Linder in my run for Wyoming County Sheriff.
In 2025, I attended and successfully completed the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. This three
month training program allowed me to build priceless relationships with Law Enforcement Executives
from around the nation, and around the world. I completed courses in Critical Incident Management,
Hostage Negotiations, National Security, Media Relations, and a course for Aspiring Sheriffs. After
graduation, I returned to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office with the tools necessary to lead the agency
into the future. Other notable experiences throughout my career include serving New York State as a Drug
Recognition Expert Instructor for the past five years, and as a Drug Recognition Expert for the past
thirteen years. I also served the Sheriff’s Office as a Road Patrol Sergeant for nine years, Field Training
Officer for fourteen years, and Deputy Sheriff for nine year I am a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, residing for my first five years in Castile and the remaining years in Warsaw.
I am a 2001 graduate of Warsaw Central High School, and I went on to graduate with an
Associate’s degree at Erie Community College. I then pursued and achieved certification as a New York
State Paramedic, gaining vital skills that helped me serve our community as a first responder for the last
twenty years. I began my career with the Warsaw Police Department in 2005, and I was hired by the
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office the same year. I married my wife, Emily, in 2008, and we have lived in
and raised our two daughters in Warsaw. My family is rooted in Wyoming County, and I will seek to serve
as your Sheriff for many terms to come.
If elected, I will serve for all the People of Wyoming County. I will lead the Sheriff’s Office with three
core values: Community, Integrity, and Professionalism. Protecting this County is never done alone, and
we will work hand in hand with community members and organizations to provide the public safety
necessary to keep our People safe from adversaries. I will lead the agency with integrity to earn and
maintain the trust of our community, and the trust of my staff. I will lead the agency with professionalism,
where crime is prevented before it occurs, and offenders are swiftly apprehended through proactive law
enforcement and intelligence led policing. I will be fiscally responsible, building appropriate, balancing
budgets that meet the needs of the agency while maintaining the support of the taxpayers. I will protect
the rights guaranteed to our citizens through the United States Constitution, speaking out when necessary if those rights are infringed upon.
As Undersheriff, I founded the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization
prioritizing youth outreach programs and support of local law enforcement. I implemented a county wide
active shooter training program through the ALERRT program, making our schools a safer place for our
children, and utilized grant funding to cover all costs. As Sheriff, I would continue to prioritize the safety
of our children, and the safety inside our schools.
I believe that my years of law enforcement experience, the training I have received, and my commitment
to public safety make me the best candidate to serve as the next Wyoming County Sheriff. It would be my
great honor to have the support of the People of Wyoming County as I seek to be elected in the 2026
Election.
Sincerely,
Colin P. B. Reagan
