Press release
Elba, NY – The Town and Village of Elba are continuing work on their Comprehensive Plan and are inviting residents, property owners, business owners, and community stakeholders to participate in an upcoming Public Workshop.
The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a long-range policy framework to guide future growth, development, infrastructure investment, and preservation efforts in both the Town and Village. The Plan will evaluate existing conditions and trends, identify key issues and opportunities, and establish goals and implementation strategies related to land use, housing, economic development, transportation, agriculture, natural resources, and community services. Once adopted, the Plan will guide local decision-making, zoning updates, and future capital planning efforts.
Community input is a critical component of the planning process. The Public Workshop will provide an opportunity for attendees to review initial findings, share feedback on priorities and concerns, and help shape the vision for Elba’s future. The Public Workshop will be held:
Tuesday, March 24, 2026
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Elba Central School Cafeteria, 57 S Main St, Elba, NY 14058
The workshop will follow an open house format. Attendees may arrive at any time during the two-hour session. Project consultants and local officials will be present to answer questions, discuss planning topics, and collect input through interactive stations and mapping exercises.
Funding for the Joint Comprehensive Plan is being provided by the New York State Department of State through the Environmental Protection Fund.
Additional information about the Comprehensive Plan process and future engagement opportunities will be shared as the project progresses. Residents are strongly encouraged to attend and help shape the future of the Town and Village of Elba.
