Press release
The Batavia City School District Foundation invites the community to celebrate Independence
Day at Picnic in the Park 2026 on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at
Centennial Park in Batavia.
This family-friendly celebration will feature live music, field games, food, petting zoo, and
community activities throughout the afternoon. A highlight of the day will be a reading of the
Declaration of Independence portraying John Adams, helping commemorate both the Fourth of
July and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The Batavia Concert Band will start off the celebration, followed by The Songbirds, with The
Ohms Band closing out the festivities.
The Foundation is currently seeking volunteers, vendors, crafters, school groups, and local
organizations interested in participating in this event.
Additional details about entertainment, activities, and participating organizations will be
announced as they become available.
