Batavia PD has defeated City Fire by a score of 10-7 to take back the trophy, avenging last year’s loss in the Battle of the Badges hockey matchup at the David McCarthy Ice Arena in Batavia on Sunday evening.
City Fire started out hot in the first period taking a 2-0 lead, but in the 3rd period the flood gates opened, and Batavia PD started capitalizing on their chances.
$1,070 was raised with 175 people attending the game.Â
Proceeds raised from tonight’s game are donated to the Best Supporter of the Rink, the David McCarthy Foundation, which donates to many families, sports clubs, events and people in the community, including the rink, helping to purchase ice skates.
