Following a fatal motor vehicle accident, on Route 63, in the Town of Bethany, on June 16, 2025. Marquel Kennedy, age 28, of California, was indicted by the Grand Jury of Genesee County for Manslaughter 2nd, Criminally Negligent Homicide and
Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd. Kennedy was arraigned in Genesee County Court and held in the Genesee County Jail on cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in Genesee County Court on June 17, 2026.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred at about 10:05pm on June 16, 2025 on Route 63 in the Town of Bethany. Preliminary investigation shows that Marquel
Kennedy, age 27, of Buffalo was operating a 2008 Volvo SUV northbound on Route 63.
Kennedy attempted to pass two northbound tractor trailers and a farm tractor and collided head on with a southbound 2017 Honda motorcycle operated by Ryan A. Farley, age 40, of Hemlock, NY. Farley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kennedy was transported via ambulance to UMMC for observation.
Investigation is continuing by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and charges are pending.
