Community members, advocates, farmworkers, and local residents will gather on Sunday, June 7, at 2:00 p.m. outside the Batavia City Court, 1 West Main Street, Batavia, New York, for a public rally focused on immigration enforcement reform and the impact of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies on local communities.
Organizers emphasize that this is not an “Abolish ICE” or anti-ICE event. Rather, the rally is intended to create space for constructive dialogue about immigration policy, due process, family unity, and the experiences of individuals and communities affected by immigration enforcement actions.
Featured speakers will include representatives from Alianza Agrícola, who will share firsthand accounts of how ICE enforcement practices have affected agricultural workers, families, and rural communities. Their testimony will provide attendees with an opportunity to better understand the human impact of current policies and discuss potential reforms.
Other local peace advocates will also speak at the rally.
The event aims to encourage respectful conversation and civic engagement around immigration issues while highlighting the importance of balancing public safety, economic needs, and human dignity.
