The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a triple fatal accident that occurred on Prole Road in the Town of Stafford early Sunday morning.
Genesee County dispatchers received a call reporting a one vehicle accident at 2:01 AM on June 14th, 2026.
Preliminary investigation, indicates that a black 2012 Nissan Altima, being operated by Joseph A. Martinez, 23, of Pavilion, NY, was traveling north on Prole Road when it exited the west shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree and coming to rest.
Marinez and two passengers in the vehicle, Dylan S. Pehrson, 23, and Megan R. Merrell, 22, both of Batavia, NY, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Genesee County Coroner’s Office.
At this time, the accident is still under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division and Crash Management Team. Assisting at the scene were members of the Genesee County Coroner’s Office, NYS Police, Stafford Fire Department, Town of Batavia Fire Department and Mercy EMS.
