ORLEANS COUNTY/YWCA of Genesee County to open Dayle Rae’s Place in Orleans County

Press release

ALBION, NY — The YWCA of Genesee County is proud to announce the acquisition of the former PathStone Safe House in Orleans County, ensuring the continuation of critical services for survivors of domestic violence and their children throughout Orleans County and neighboring communities.

In partnership with the Orleans County Department of Social Services, the YWCA will continue operating the safe house as a secure refuge for individuals and families seeking safety, support, and a pathway toward healing.

The home will be renamed Dayle Rae’s Place in honor of Dayle Rae Beedham, a lifelong advocate for others whose dedication to social work and community service touched countless lives throughout Orleans County.

Dayle devoted both her career and her heart to helping vulnerable individuals and families. Her compassion, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others left a lasting impact on the community she loved.

“Naming this home Dayle Rae’s Place is a fitting tribute to a woman who spent her life serving others,” said Jamie Beedham-Rada, Executive Director of the YWCA of Genesee County. “Dayle believed every person deserved dignity, safety, and support. Through this home, her legacy of compassion and service will continue to provide hope and healing for generations to come.”

The acquisition represents an important investment in the future of survivor services in Orleans County. The YWCA remains committed to ensuring that individuals experiencing domestic violence have access to emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, safety planning, and supportive services close to home.

“We are grateful to the Orleans County Department of Social Services and our community partners for their collaboration and shared commitment to survivors,” said Beedham-Rada. “Together, we are ensuring that this vital resource remains available to those who need it most.”

Dayle Rae’s Place will continue serving survivors from Orleans County and surrounding counties, providing a safe and supportive environment where individuals and families can begin rebuilding their lives free from violence.
