The Genesee County Charity Riders presented the Batavia VA with a check for $4,850 after their Post to Post 97 mile Run on May 30th.
Cindy Baker (center), Specialist for the Civic Engagement Center of Development at the VA accepted the donation from Genesee County Charity Riders Vice President Kevin Zito and Secretary Alice Zito.
This is the first donation received for a permanent curtain at the back patio that can be used in the summer and in the winter. The cost of the curtain is $34,000.
“In the summertime we have picnics out there and we can roll the walls down and our vets can still stay outside and enjoy the picnic, where in the past if it rains, we have to bring them inside. In the wintertime, it will be more secure so they can go out in the fresh air, it will be a little chili, but they can still enjoy it and be protected from the elements,” says Baker.
