Andrew Bennett, a 21-year-old well known Attica resident, has been at Strong Hospital since last week.

Bennett suffered a serious head injury after an E-Bike accident in the area of Attica Elementary School on Prospect Street last Tuesday, July 7th. He was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital after being transported to UMMC by Attica Ambulance.

Andrew suffered a head injury after his head struck the curb, causing a brain bleed. He underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and remove a clot according to his brother Justin. On Friday, Andrew was taken off a ventilator and started talking. He was moved from the ICU to a regular observation room. Andrew has been improving says Justin, and on Sunday he was walking down the hallway with assistance.

Justin says the family has created a GoFundMe page to assist with medical expenses.

“His medical needs are more complex due to his autism and epilepsy, making this time especially challenging for him and his family, both emotionally and financially. The days in the ICU have been tough, but Andrew’s spirit remains strong.”
