GENESEE COUNTY/Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation announces record second quarter distribution

Press release

BATAVIA, N.Y. — Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation (WROTBC) today announced it will distribute $3,725,429 to its 17 member municipalities for the second quarter of 2026, making the largest second quarter distribution in the Corporation’s history.

“The record distribution reflects the continued strong performance of Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel and Western Regionals ongoing commitment to maximizing the financial return provided to its municipal owners,” said President and CEO, Byron Brown.

Through the first six months of 2026, Western Regional has generated a total of $6,717,130 in earnings and surcharge distributions for its member municipalities. That represents an increase of $909,523, or approximately 16%, compared with $5,807,607 through the same period in 2025.

The increased municipal distributions have been driven by another strong year of operations at Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel. Through June 2026, net win totaled approximately $48.1 million, compared with approximately $46.7 million through June 2025, an increase of more than $1.4 million, continuing the Corporation’s strong financial momentum.

As a New York State public benefit corporation, Western Regional returns its earnings and statutory surcharge distributions directly to its member municipalities rather than private shareholders. These funds help support local governments throughout Western New York by providing additional resources for public safety, infrastructure, community programs, and other local priorities.

The record second quarter distribution highlights Western Regional’s continued focus on sound financial management, operation excellence, and delivering increasing value to the municipalities it serves.
