Batavia, NY — Fall fun is popping up all over Downtown Batavia as the Batavia Business Improvement District (BID)
kicks off the Downtown Scarecrow Contest 2026! Businesses, agencies, organizations, and families, this is your
chance to show off your creativity and add some extra personality to Main Street.
For just a $25 entry fee, participants will get a starter kit that includes a post, straw, twine, and your very own pole
downtown. From there, it’s up to you, scary, funny, whimsical, or wacky, the most creative scarecrow will take home
a cash prize!

Supply Pick-Up:
- Tuesday, September 15 – Thursday, September 17
- 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
- Jackson Square, Downtown Batavia
Important Dates: - Scarecrows must be up by Friday, October 2nd.
- Scarecrows must be removed by Sunday, November 8th.
