Genesee Community College Director of Human Service Careers & Education Jodi Scondras has been selected to serve as a 2026-2027 SUNY Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (DEISJ) Fellow.
Scondras was selected following an extensive, multi-round review process that considered nearly 200 applications from across the State University of New York system. Ten fellows were selected for the fourth year of the SUNY DEISJ Fellows Program.
The program supports the SUNY General Education Framework and helps faculty develop courses and learning experiences that incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice. As a fellow, Scondras will assist SUNY faculty in updating and developing courses that fulfill the DEISJ General Education requirement and provide consultations to SUNY campuses.
Scondras brings extensive experience in education, curriculum development, and inclusive teaching practices to the fellowship. In her role at GCC, she oversees programs and initiatives that prepare students for careers serving individuals, families and communities throughout the GLOW region.
“I am honored to have been selected as a SUNY DEISJ Fellow and look forward to collaborating with faculty and colleagues across the SUNY system,” said Scondras. “This opportunity will allow me to contribute to meaningful conversations around curriculum and pedagogy while supporting educators as they prepare students to engage with diverse communities.”
Through the fellowship, Scondras will contribute to SUNY-wide efforts to support faculty and strengthen students’ learning experiences across the SUNY system.
