Video of this afternoon’s press conference
Spectrum and Genesee County held a joint press conference at the Interpretive Nature Center at the Genesee County Park and Forest in East Bethany on Tuesday afternoon, to announce that all of Genesee County has access to high-speed internet.
The Genesee County Park was one of the unserved areas. The project will provide internet access to more than 700 previously unserved addresses across Genesee County. The project supports broadband access that supports education, business growth and quality of life across the county.

County Manager Matt Landers says the project cost was about $6.5 million. Landers says a couple million came from ARPA funds, some funding came from state grants and the rest of the money for the project came from county reserves. Genesee County joins Wayne and Monroe Counties in the area as counties with full high speed internet access.
