Thanks to a partnership with Letchworth State Park, the Glen Iris Inn, and Letchworth Concessions LLC, Regional Transit Service (RTS) will provide free shuttle service for park visitors over three weekends in the month of October. The shuttle will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 3 & 4, October 10 & 11, and October 17 & 18.
“RTS is happy to partner with Letchworth State Park to provide this shuttle and make it easy for visitors to enjoy the beautiful views and fall foliage the park has to offer without the hassle of parking,” said RTS CEO Miguel Velázquez. “Thank you to the RTS team for providing this service, and thank you to Letchworth State Park, the Glen Iris Inn, and Letchworth Concessions LLC for subsidizing this service so park visitors can enjoy this wonderful experience for free.”
“Letchworth is a very popular place for catching the views of fall foliage, especially in the falls areas,” said Letchworth State Park Manager Douglas Kelly. “Because parking space is limited at the most popular view sheds, we wanted to enhance the visitor experience by offering an accessible shuttle option to get to the prime sites of the park. The shuttle service can ensure more patrons can have a safe and smooth visiting experience while visiting Letchworth State Park.”
The RTS shuttle, which is ADA accessible, will run on a continuous loop between six stops within the park:
- Lower Falls/Lower Falls Restaurant
- Trailside/Nature Center
- Inspiration Point
- Glen Iris Inn
- Middle/Upper Falls
***Important point for clarity: the shuttle only operates within the park between the six stops listed above and does not provide transportation to the park.
