LeRoy/Rochester man arrested in larcenies that span four counties

A Rochester man was arrested Sunday by the LeRoy Police Department after a two month investigation spanning four counties.

The investigation started January 31, 2017, when an unknown male, later determined to be Thomas H. Gilbert, 52, of Manor Parkway Apt. 1 in Rochester, entered the Walgreens pharmacy in the Village of LeRoy and stole numerous containers of “Alli kit 60s” worth $387.94.

During the follow-up investigation, it was allegedly determined on this same day, this same suspect committed similar larcenies of “Prevagen” at the CVS store in Avon (Livingston County) and the City of Rochester (Monroe County).

Then on March 24, 2017, this same suspect was allegedly seen stealing more “Prevagen” from the CVS in Farmington and head light lamps from the Advantage Auto in Geneva (both in Ontario County).

Eventually Gilbert was identified as the suspect in the LeRoy Walgreens Larceny.  He was arrested at his residence in the City of Rochester during the execution of a search warrant by the LeRoy Police Department with the assistance of the Rochester Police Department.

Gilbert is charged with one count of petit larceny in LeRoy and arraigned in the LeRoy Town Court and committed to the Genesee County Jail.

Further charges from other jurisdictions are pending.
