WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Drug Task Force arrests two men

Members of the Wyoming County Drug Task announce the arrests of two individuals for allegedly selling drugs in Wyoming County.

On February 2, 2017, members arrested Bishop WILLIAMS, 23, of Genesee Street, LeRoy,  and charged him with criminal sale of a controlled substance 4th and criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th. Williams is accused of selling suboxone in May of 2016 while in the Village of Wyoming. He is currently being held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

On February 8, 2017, an 18 year old Warsaw man was arrested and charged with 2 counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance  5th and 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree. The teen is alleged to have sold amphetamines on two occasions in 2016 while in the Village of Warsaw. This subject was released into the custody of the pretrial program and his name is being withheld as he may be eligible for youthful offender status.

The Wyoming County Drug Task Force includes members from the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Arcade, Attica, Perry, and Warsaw Police Departments.

William A. Shearin, Jr., 57, of Philadelphia, PA, was arrested following a traffic stop on Rt. 20A in the Town of Orangeville February 12, 2017.

Shearin was stopped for speeding at which time the odor of marijuana and alcohol was found coming from within his vehicle.

Shearin was also found to have a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s license, and his driver’s license had not been valid since 2004.

He failed standardized field sobriety testing, and was taken into custody.

Shearin was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where a drug influence evaluation was conducted by a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert.

He was determined to be impaired by alcohol and cannabis.

Shearin is charged with DWAI/Drugs, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of alcohol and drugs, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, and speed over 55MPH.

Shearin was arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court where he was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $500.00 cash bail or $2,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Orangeville Court on March 15, 2017 for further proceedings.
