WYOMING COUNTY/Cheektowaga man charged with assault after incident at Jam in the Valley last summer

 

A Cheektowaga man was arrested on March 1, 2017 following a lengthy investigation of an assault that occurred on July 3, 2016 in the parking lot at the Jam in the Valley Concert.

An Angola man was in his vehicle when he was struck in the face with a beer bottle causing serious injuries.  The suspect fled, however, his DNA was obtained from the bottle which was recovered inside the vehicle following the assault.

Tylor Phinney, 21, of Cheektowaga, N.Y. is charged with assault 2nd.

Phinney, who is currently on Wyoming County Probation on  unrelated charges, was arraigned before Wyoming County Court Judge Mohun and was released back to the Wyoming County Pre- Trial Probation Program.

Phinney is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.

Deputy Mike Majtyka, Deputy Chance Sampson, Forensic Technician Deputy Steve Miller, Wyoming County Probation Officer Gene Traxler and Erie County Sheriff’s Detective Shawn Hettiger all assisted with the investigation.
