BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Fugitive arrested on Jefferson avenue

Ramon J. Galvez, 35, of Washington Ave., Batavia, was arrested after a traffic stop on Jefferson Avenue on March 3, 2017.

Galvez is charged with being a fugitive from justice out of Franklin County, Washington.

He was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and jailed without bail.

Galvez will appear in City Court on April 3, 2017 at 1:30p.m.

 

 

Melissa R. Piazza, 27, of Walnut St., Batavia, was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of the City of Batavia where she allegedly used the credit card of someone without the victim’s consent.

Piazza is facing identity theft 3rd, criminal possession of stolen property 4th and petit larceny charges from September of 2016.

She was fingerprinted and photographed and then issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on March 14, 2017 at 1:00p.m.

 

 

Shaun A. Surowka, 59, of S. Main Street, Batavia is charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for an equipment violation at 131 West Main street on March 5, 2017.

Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle he was operating.

Also charged is Marcus L. Speed, 29, of Mellvile St., Rochester, he is facing a criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd charge.

Both men were issued appearance tickets and will appear in City Court on March 21, 2017 at 1:00p.m.

 

Ryan C. Bishop, 26, of Scottsville, NY, was arrested for felony DWI(previous conviction within 10 years), felony aggravated DWI(prior conviction) and lights do not meet standards after allegedly found to be driving with a BAC of .24% . after a traffic stop at 69 Main street in Batavia on March 3, 2017.

Bishop was arraigned in the Town of Stafford Court and released under the supervision of Genesee Justice.

He will appear in City Court later today.

 

 

Chad E. Alwardt, 37, of Holland Ave., Batavia, is charged with felony DWI(previous conviction), lights do not meet standards, aggravated unlicensed operation, expired inspection and unlicensed operator after a traffic stop at 98 Jackson street on March 4, 2017.

Alwardt was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and held on $1,500 cash or bond bail.

He will appear in City Court later today.

 

Thomas A. Culver Jr., 38, 0f Wood St., Batavia, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by City Court on February 28, 2017.

Culver violated the terms of his sentence by failing to report to the Genesee County Jail on February 24, 2017.

He was arraigned in City Court on March 5, 2017 and jailed on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond bail.

Culver will re-appear in City Court on March 8, 2017.

 

 

Jacquelyn K. Hildebrant, 35, of State St., Batavia, is charge with dog running at large after an investigation into an incident where her dog allegedly attacked another dog at 160 State street on February 27, 2017.

Hildebrant was released and issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on March 21, 2017.

 

Russell R. Miles, 48, of S. Main St., Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt 1st after being found violating a stay away order of protection on Liberty street on March 2, 2017.

Miles was held without bail and will appear in City Court later today.

 

Justin T. Stephenson, 32, of Hutchins St., Batavia, was arrested on a an active bench warrant from December of 2014 out of City Court.

He was arraigned in City Court on March 1, 2017 and posted bail.

 

 

Alisha A. Soule, 20, of Rt. 237, Stafford, was arrested on two warrants issued out of City Court after she failed to appear to answer a traffic ticket and failed to pay a fine on a different matter.

Soule is due in City Court on March 8, 2017 at 12:30p.m
